Peace Searchers of Gil (PSG), a non-governmental, non-political, and non-profit organization, has been working since 2002 with the objectives:

• To offer humanitarian services.
• To provide consultation, information, and support for refugees and migrants.
• To prevent and fight unsafe migration, including human trafficking and migrant trafficking.
• To provide support for victims of human trafficking and vulnerable migrants.
• To support preserving migrants’ human rights.
• To cooperate regarding technical management of migration affairs.
• To response to AIDS and take the strategies to improve the society’s health.
• To support children against violence, persecution, abuse and discrimination.

To fulfill the objectives, this organization mostly turns to voluntary services on the part of volunteers, and a limited number of employees are in charge of executive affairs of the organization. Financial resources of PSG are supplied through public aids, membership pay, and incomes gained from selling books and published materials as well as contracts bound.

The board of directors is composed of 5 members who are elected biannually in the general assembly through ballots cast by the members.

We run offices in Iran and Armenia. Also, we have some other offices in Georgia, Afghanistan, and Malaysia underway.

Selecting the projects accurately, conducting research and studies regarding the new plans, managing odd projects, and performing team projects are the most significant keys to the success for us. Apart from the noted factors, the individual capabilities of the members have led to noticeable short-term achievements.

All people have the right to stay or move and live and work in dignity with equal rights in a society, where their quality of life is ensured.

Mission

The points to be followed shall be taken into consideration:

• True understanding of the articles and contents of the International Acts and Regulations concerning migration, together with propagating them among all the beneficiaries in the processes of migration, is a significant step to guarantee respect and support for the human rights of the migrants.

• Human trafficking and migrant trafficking are among the most destructive emigrational faults, especially as regards the human trafficking as the violation of human rights. This may bring about negative consequences for governments, societies, and even the migrants.

• The governments across the world need many technical supports so as to prevent human trafficking and migrant trafficking and keep the perpetrators of this crime under prosecution, and have them arrested.

• There is a limited corpus of data concerning the human trafficking and migrant trafficking, which is partly due to covert essence of activities as such. Therefore, a large amount of data and information is required to facilitate the management of direct help-rendering to the victims of the human trafficking, improvement of research capacities and understanding the causes, steps, approaches, and consequences of such trafficking.

• Providing the potential victims and the migrants at the risk of trafficking in the countries of origin with the adequate information is one of the most important factors leading to human trafficking and migrant trafficking prevention. Awareness raising activities will prove to be successful if various media aim at specific groups.

PSG, incorporating the above-said points, works to fight against human trafficking and migrant trafficking in its all forms through awareness raising, information campaign, advocacy, monitoring, capacity building, consultation, the coordination of actions and networking.

It is noteworthy that networking, a regional network, national and local networks, and affiliated individuals and groups, serve as an umbrella that coordinates and takes direction from its organizations and networks in its fight against human trafficking and migrant trafficking and in support of victims of migration, and also sharing information among relevant stakeholders.

Day in day out, the challenges grow greater for those who are in search of preventing human trafficking and migrant trafficking. We can effectively fight trafficking only if our knowledge, our experience, and our skills surpass those of the traffickers.
